Creative Heartlands |
Survey June 2021
Context
Since 2015 Leitrim, Sligo and Roscommon County Councils have worked strategically as a collective in the area of film development, seeking to support the ongoing development of filmmakers that live here and collectively facilitating filmmaking in the region. This gave rise to the SLR film project (www.slrfilm.ie) and together with the Local Enterprise Offices of the three counties and other regional partners we developed the Creative Heartlands project. Creative Heartlands is funded by Enterprise Ireland.
Screen and Film work in our region encompasses a plurality of activity and a diversity of filmmakers and practitioners including film, television, animation, fine art film, experimental educational, commercial et al.
One of the key priorities of Creative Heartlands is to throughout the region, support the acitivity and development of all filmmakers from new entrants through to experienced practitioners .
In tandem with supporting the region’s filmmakers, Creative Heartlands will promote and develop the capacity of the region, seek to enhance its infrastructure and services and to foster an enterprise culture to enable growth in Screen and Film work.
The project has received funding for the next three years and has recently appointed a Film Manager and has invested in Shooting equipment and will soon invest in Edit facilities, which will be located within the region at 3 x bases in Leitrim Sculpture Centre, Sligo Northside Community Centre, and Roscommon Arts Centre.
As part of our strategy to develop we wish to survey our region’s screen and film community to get a snap shot of the current work, operations, needs and wants of the community.
We would like to thank you in advance for your time and reassure you that the information provided will be used confidentially and only for the purposes of acquiring the information which will assist, inform and develop the aims and objectives of the Creative Heartlands project.
