Empty Aurigny jet takes to skies for crew training
AMONGST the quiet of lockdown, Bailiwick residents may have heard the familiar sound of the Aurigny jet overhead as crews take to the skies for training.
Yesterday and today the jet has been flying overhead so the crew can ensure they have up-to-date training.
These are not passenger flights.
A spokesperson for the company said Aurigny remains committed to being the community airline of the Bailiwick and ready to commence services as and when it is safe and appropriate to do so.
'As such, it is imperative for our pilots to keep up to date and this will mean on occasion aircraft may take to the skies to ensure such training can take place,' they said.
'We would once again like to thank our customers and staff for their support and patience during this extraordinary time.
'We look forward to doing what we do best as soon as circumstances allow.'
